Curlew March Photo of the Month
This month we have a Curlew photo for you. The Curlew is the largest wading bird found in Europe and is easily recognised by its downward curved bill which it uses to scour estuaries for worms, shellfish and shrimps. The Curlew is a resident in the UK and can be found all year round with the largest populations in the North West of England around Morecambe Bay and the Solway Firth. The Curlew is currently listed as Amber by the RSPB categories of conservation importance. This means that the Curlew has a declining population in the UK.
