Royal Parks in London Commission
We were commissioned by the Royal Parks in London commission to produce new signage for the Isabella Plantations in Richmond Park.
The brief was, to say the least, a little different; we were asked to produce some signs which were not to be easily seen whilst standing in the plantations.
We had a meeting on site when it became clear exactly what the brief meant. It is a very established park and the group didn’t want any finger posts or stand up signs which could be seen if you looked round, they felt it would be too intrusive, the signs had to be extremely subtle.
It was a challenging project. So after lots of thought and discussion, it was decided that we would use felled oak trees from the park to place along the new pathways, and to make new oak signs and then rout out the logs and place the new signs in the logs to guide visitors around.
The end result was amazing. Please click on bespoke projects to see the signs insitu.
