Titanic Memorial at the Pier Head Liverpool
We were honoured to be commissioned to design a sign for the Titanic Memorial at the Pier Head Liverpool to coincide with the 100-year anniversary of the Titanic sinking. The purpose of the sign is to honour the engineers who lost their lives working in the engine rooms of the Titanic, Lusitania and other ships during World War I.
It was decided that stove enamel was the preferred material for such an important site at the Pier Head in Liverpool. Famously known for its sometimes severe weather and the memorial is in a very exposed place, so it was important we selected a material which was extremely durable.
The location and installation of the sign was a large consideration, mainly because of the maintenance required. It was decided that stone setts would be in-keeping and matched the colour of the memorial stone.
Nature Sign Design were in attendance at the unveiling of the sign along with local dignitaries, this was obviously a very poignant occasion.
